My Sketchbook Project 10

With every sketch I do, I am juxtaposing it next to a colorful number I cut out of a magazine image. I just love color but also love plain line drawings as well. This pairing of drawings and magazine collaging allows me to have the best of both worlds.

After the students created their artwork inspired by music, we had a critique. We discussed the elements of art and principles of design in relation to their artwork. The students then found interesting areas on their artwork (3x4in) which they are now creating on a larger scale (18x24in) with acrylic paint. The focus for these abstract paintings has been composition, shape and color mixing.

My Sketchbook Project 7

I'm not super pleased with this one; it was a very quick sketch done at a faculty meeting. (drawing enhances my listening abilities). However, it's a drawing from life and something worth saving for the book. I wanted the drawings to be based experiences or elements of my daily life.
